Difficulties with voice recognition?
- For greater efficiency and accuracy, we recommend that you use the Web application to save your contacts rather than saving them through the voice application.
- If you have any difficulties with pronunciation or a strong accent, we recommend using the voice application to save your contacts because the application will compare the name you're asking for with what you said when you recorded the contact. This should result in better voice recognition.
- If you often get multiple results or if the application hesitates between two or more contacts, we recommend adding a nickname to problematic contacts. For example, if you say "Call John Doe" and the application asks you to choose between "John Doe" and "John Dole," you could add a nickname (e.g. Johnny) to one of your contacts. For the application, it's easier to distinguish between Johnny Doe and John Dole than John Doe and John Dole.
- When the phone line and Business Voice Dialing are used by several people, it's preferable for contacts to be entered in the Web application rather than vocally by an employee. This will help make voice recognition more efficient.
Switching languages?
- Even if you normally use the service in English, you can say "Français" at any time to continue navigating the application in French. However, the next time you use the service, the application will be in English again if that's the default language you requested upon subscribing.
- To change the default language call Bell customer service at 310-BELL (Ontario) or 310-7070 (Quebec).
Getting help using your service?
- You can say "Help" at any time when you're in the application and you'll be given more information about the choices available to you.
- You can also contact Bell Help Desk at 611 for answers to all your questions.
Difficulties with importing an address book?
- Please note that the "Import a phone book" functionality is available for Internet Explorer only.
- If the Voice Dialing Address Book Synchronizer ActiveX control has failed, execute the following steps to try to fix the problem:
- Save your work and close all applications.
- Restart your computer.
- Once your computer has restarted, uninstall the Voice Dialing Address Book Synchronizer: Start → Control panel → Add/Remove programs
- If "Bell VAD AddressBookSync" appears, click on it and then click Remove.
- Go back to the Business Voice Dialing web application: BusinessVoiceDialing.bell.ca
- Retry the Import Phone Book feature.
- If this does not work, it is possible that your computer security settings do not permit the installation and/or the execution of ActiveX control. If this is the case, you will have to add your contacts using the Add feature on My phonebook page.
